Our three older boys have been in one bedroom for some time now sleeping in a bunk bed with a trundle. My husband and I were mulling over whether or not to move number three downstairs to join number four, and go two and two. As the boys heard us discussing, they became adamant about all four brothers staying together. It didn't take much convincing as we already loved in theory the idea of them all sharing a room. Now I just had to figure out how to make that practically work.
I went in search of the smallest, most simple bunk beds possible and found these from Ikea. My servant hearted husband spent way longer than anticipated staining all the pieces and then assembling them. But he agreed the result was worth it! My mom asked if I wanted these old foot locker trunks my sisters and I had used back in the day for summer camp; after a little paint touch up, they now provide the perfect place for hiding toys.
I loved this steel plumbing pipe curtain rod idea from pinterest.
I might have done a little dance in the Pottery Barn Outlet upon discovering this chair... on clearance!
Each boy gets his own shelf for "stuff." I took the liberty of using David's shelf for books until further notice.
Now how to fit everyone's clothes in one closet and one chest of drawers?
It's been the summer of clean out and simplify. If I couldn't remember the last time they wore it, it went to good will.
Plastic bins in the closet contain the younger boys play clothes and pajamas. I haven't moved the littlest guys' clothes up from the nursery and may not until he's dressing himself.
Hanging clothes are sorted by size with dividers. Don't laugh; I'm type A.
My Four Sons...
making memories!
