The last couple of weeks were a little rough with sweet baby David getting sick right on his six month birthday, and then about the time he got better, I had a trip to the ER with a bad case of mastitis. Thank you Lord we are all well and almost back into the full swing of things. Here are a few pictures I was able to capture during some of our last October activities and celebrations...
Color mixing. We were trying to make black and kept getting brown until we figured out all you need for black is red, yellow, and blue!
Our author study this month was Lois Elhert. We talked about how she is the author AND illustrator noting her unique art technique of collage through cutting and pasting. Boo To You was their favorite Elhert book, and they are still jumping out to surprise anyone and everyone as they yell "Boo to you!"
Out of dozens of library books, one of our favorites was The Pout Pout Fish for letter "F." Jonathan is a hoot reading this book!
Caleb learning to measure liquid and order by volume
My big boy got a big boy haircut this week and lost his first tooth!!
Little bit turned 6 months and bless his heart had his first sick visit to the doctor. He had his blood drawn twice and was so tough!
We made our annual trip to the neighborhood pumpkin patch and after daddy carved a silly face, our pumpkin was named Patch. Caleb said this was so he would never forget where he came from.
Jonathan's birthday is October 31, and our tradition for three years has been eat cake with the cousins, then go get candy!
NASCAR driver, Luke Skywalker and Yoda, Auburn football player
Using our trick or treat spoils to practice math skills: sorting and counting. And there was a lot! Over 30 different kinds of candy!
