Dear Miss Holly...

The boys each have a little "piggy bank" where they save birthday money, extra chore money, grandma money, etc. They recently decided to pool all their money together so they would have more to do something really special.

Like many people, Kennon and I go through all the extra ministry requests we receive at the end of the year, look at our finances, and prayerfully are privileged to give to those in need. Then we share our process with the boys and invite them to look at their piggy banks and prayerfully consider giving some of their money to someone in need. For the second year the boys decided they wanted to give to my friend Holly and the orphans she serves in Zambia through Family Legacy International. Amazing ministry! I think the boys feel like they know Holly and the children. We've watched videos of the orphan kids singing their hearts out in worship at Camp Life in Zambia, and Holly sends beautiful newsletters full of powerful life changing testimonies which I read to the boys.
It was after one of these stories, Caleb called a huddle with his brothers, and they announced to me they wanted to send Miss Holly and the orphans $100 of their saved $110. I actually asked them several more times if they were sure, but how instantly I was convicted! Their little faces were glowing with joy... the true joy of a pure heart eager to give to those in great need. What a blessed return for their investment!
