Rainbows, Brer Rabbit, and Shoelaces

Captured moments of learning, love, and chaos...

Letter "R" activities with rainbows

Math: Counting the dots and matching with the correct number

Literacy: Matching upper and lowercase letters

My boys love hearing Brer Rabbit stories. We even had a special visitor this week to share his version of the tales! My sisters and I grew up listening with great delight to my dad's  tales about Brer Rabbit, and it's so special to watch him passing the tradition down to my kids.

Some of our other favorite "R" books including Caleb's readers by Richard Scarry.

Caleb working on estimating and measuring in feet. We started out measuring the room with my feet, then his feet, and then an actual foot with a ruler.

 Our Artwork
Caleb was incredibly proud of his Olympic torch made with oil pastels.

Jonathan made his first mat man! I know I'm biased, but I was so impressed! Not bad for a three year old. You might notice Caleb's mat man has his shoes untied with the laces flying up the air :-)

Perhaps Caleb's mat man shoelaces were a connection to him tying his shoes for the first time without asking for any help! This is BIG!

I thought David needed an appearance on the blog. Here is he and Caleb making silly faces together!
