It's Easter Sunday and time to shout "He is risen!"
The kids run down and find Mary encountering an empty tomb, empty linen cloth (folded kleenex) and the angel who rolled away the stone. Even our oldest who has done this for four years always checks to see if the tomb is indeed empty! Jonathan (3) said, "But WHERE did the real Jesus go?" Love it when they learn by asking their own questions. While eating his breakfast Monday morning Caleb (6) thoughtfully looked up at me and asked, "So when I sin does God turn his back on me, and then when I ask forgiveness He turns back?" Another great opportunity to keep explaining the beauty of the gospel that God only had to turn His back once when Jesus took upon Himself the sin of the world. When we accept Christ as our Savior, we never have to be separated from God in the way Christ did when He was on the cross for us.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
We re-light all seven of our Lenten candles that we've been blowing out during Lent.
In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:4-5
The Saturday before Easter we celebrated my grandmother's birthday. She's 85 years young!
Mimi and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Matching Easter outfits compliments of Nana
Our first Easter service at Harvest Church!
We love this family, and they will be greatly missed! Tracy is a dear friend and prayer warrior. They are bold ambassadors for Christ, and we are excited to watch God move through them to influence another community for His glory!
Mamadoll and the grandkids (minus two!)
The boys were itching to get out of their Easter clothes and into something better suited for a fast paced egg hunt. You know like a soccer uniform and cowboy boots.
The Lord is risen!
The Lord is risen indeed!
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith."
Romans 1:16-17
