Advent Day 10: Christmas Popcorn

8 cups popped popcorn
1/4 cup butter
 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar or 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 (3 1/2 ounce) pacckages Jello, gelatin, any red and/or green flavor

  • Heat oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil or wax paper. Place popcorn in a large bowl.
  • Heat butter and syrup in small saucepan on low heat. Stir in sugar and gelatin. Bring it to a boil on  medium heat. Reduce heat to low; gently simmer 5 minutes
  • Pour syrup immediately over popcorn, tossing to coat well. Spread popcorn in prepared pan, using two forks to spread evenly. Bake 10 minutes. Cool.
  • Remove from pan and break into small pieces.
*Warning: This popcorn was easy and fun to make but is VERY SWEET! Think sugary candy. Two of my kids thought that was awesome, but it was too much for the other boys. Might keep looking for some other red and green Christmas popcorn recipes! Suggestions?
