One of our anticipated Advent traditions has become having a candy cane day. We read The Candymaker's Gift by David and Helen Haidle (love these authors) while eating candy canes, usually with hot chocolate.
There are lots of really simple candy cane crafts. I picked these Melty Bead Christmas ornament crafts up at Michael's when all their Christmas crafts were 50% off. You iron the pegs to make them melt together which the boys thought was pretty cool.
Then we watch The Legend of the Candy Cane. It's become one of their favorites.
